Maurice Sendak Tributes

Many of you will have been reading the articles and tributes to Maurice Sendak, who died early this week.  Among them is “Maurice Sendak: An Appreciation” in Publishers Weekly (May 10th) by Leonard S. Marcus.

You might also like a heads up about Marcus himself, who will be coming to UBC Friday afternoon,  October 12th for Vancouver Children’s Literature Roundtable and the MA in Children’s Literature Program.  Look for details in late summer on the Vancouver Children’s Literature Roundtable site.

(Among his many books, you will see an annotated edition (2011) of Norton Juster’s  The Phantom Tollbooth.  That will please those Roundtablers who enjoyed Norton Juster himself at a breakfast event some years ago.)
