New online platform for Canadian books

The Canadian Children’s Book Centre is thrilled to be partnering with the Association of Canadian Publishers to add a distinct layer of high-value content for librarians and educators to the existing listing of close to 50,000 Canadian-authored and-illustrated children’s books on 49thShelf.com, a new online discovery platform for Canadian books.
The initiative has secured funding through the Entertainment and Creative Cluster Partnerships Fund (co-administered by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport and the Ontario Media Development Corporation), and project activities will include incorporating the CCBC’s rich archive of book reviews into the existing listings on the site. The Canadian Children’s Book Centre and the Association of Canadian Publishers expect that this development will encourage the use of Canadian children’s books in schools and libraries. Project work will begin this spring, and carry on to the end of 2013.
