One Thousand Cranes at Frederic Wood Theatre February 10 & 11

The play One Thousand Cranes is based on the true story of Sadako Sasaki, a Japanese girl who died of leukemia nine years after Hiroshima. The story of her determination to live and the folding of 1,000 cranes has been told in children’s books.

Vancouver’s Colin Thomas wrote the play version which has been a great success.

This production is a Japanese-language production, presented by the Bunkaza Theatre Company of Japan, with English narration by storyteller and award-winning author Nan Gregory.
